The Board of Trustees will conduct an Executive/Closed Session in Pursuant to the following provisions of the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Section 551.001 et seq. All final votes, actions, or decisions will be taken in open session. 

Texas Government Code Section:

551.071-Private consultation with the board's attorney 
551.072- Discussing purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property 
551.073- Discussing negotiated contracts for prospective gifts or donations
551.074- Discussing personnel or to hear complaints against personnel
551.076- Considering the deployment, specific occasions for, or implementation of, security personnel or devices
551.082- Consider discipline of a public school child or children or to hear a complaint by an employee against another employee
551.0821- Consider a matter regarding a public school student where personally identifiable information about the student will necessarily be revealed by the deliberation

Closed Session

Deliberation Regarding Consultation With Attorney and Anticipated Litigation

Pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 and 551.072, the Board will convene in closed session to consult with the District’s attorney regarding legal issues related to anticipated litigation and to receive legal advice concerning the potential engagement of specialized outside counsel, including matters protected by the attorney-client privilege and information made confidential by law.

Consider and Take Possible Action on Authorization for Superintendent to Retain Specialized Legal Counsel

The Board will consider and take possible action to authorize the Superintendent to retain Minc Law Firm as specialized legal counsel to represent the District in connection with matters discussed in closed session, including anticipated litigation and related legal services, under terms and conditions deemed in the best interest of the District.

5.A. Personnel (551.074) for the purpose of considering the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee or hear complaints or charges against a public officer or employee.
