1. Call to Order
2. Arizona Administrative Code 7-2-303 requires two Public Hearings for the review of Sex Education Curriculum and Materials. The Review will include 1) Teen Outreach Program; 2) Making a Difference Program: and 3) Positive Potential Curriculum. Yuma County Health Department will present an overview of each program. Members of the public will be provided the opportunity for questions and discussion of the programs.
  • TOP - Wyman's Teen Outreach Program- (Already in the District) This program promotes the positive development of adolescents through curriculum-guided interactive group discussions; positive adult guidance and support; and community service learning. TOP curriculum is focused on key topics related to adolescent health and development, including building social, emotional and life skills; developing a positive sense of self; and connecting with others to empower teens to build a foundation of healthy behaviors, life skills and a sense of purpose.
  • Making a Difference - provides young adolescents with knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STD)s, HIV and pregnancy by abstaining from sex.
  • Positive Potential - curriculum is designed to reduce or delay sexual behaviors, reduce other risky behaviors including the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and promote positive youth development.
Two Public hearings will be held on November 8, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. and December 13, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. in the Boardroom for Yuma District One, 450 W Sixth Street, Yuma, AZ 85364.

Three Advisory committee meetings will be held on November 16, 2021, November 30, 2021, and December 7, 2021. Each meeting will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
3. Call to the Public - The Governing Board welcomes statements from residents and appreciates constructive suggestions and comments that help meet the education needs of the District. A form to submit your comments/suggestions can be found on our website www.yuma.org. The completed form should be submitted by 4pm the day of the meeting which is traditionally the second Monday of the month.
