V. Professional Development
V.A. We recommend Jessica Gibbs attend the IASBO (Indiana Association of School Business Officials) Human Resources Seminar on November 7, 2024, in Fishers, Indiana, with expenses paid from the Operations fund.

 
V.B. We recommend Chris Bajmakovich attend the IASP (Indiana Association of School Principals) Fall Professionals Conference on November 24-26, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with expenses paid from the Title IIA fund.
 
V.C. We recommend Miranda Lowden and Candace Howard attend the IASN (Indiana Association of School Nurses) Annual Fall Conference for Indiana School Nurses on November 20-21, 2024, in Noblesville, Indiana with expenses paid from the Education fund.
 
V.D. We recommend Jodi Garcia attend the ISSSA (Indiana School Safety Specialist Academy) Basic Training on November 13-14, 2024, and February 17, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana, with expenses paid from the Tittle IIA fund.
 
V.E. We recommend Kim Osteen virtually attend the ISBA (Indiana School Boards Association) Employee Discharge Webinar on November 7, 2024, with expenses paid from the Operations fund.
 
V.F. Recommend approving the Professional Development items.

VI. Leave/Resignation/Employment
All new employment to Lake Ridge New Tech Schools is contingent upon a cleared Expanded Criminal History Background Check within 30 days and a cleared Expanded Child Protection Index Check within 60 days of effective date.  IC 20-26-2-1.5 and IC 20-26-2-1.3
VI.A. We recommend accepting Clamae Bullock’s resignation from the Computer Science Teacher position at Lake Ridge Middle School effective November 1, 2024.

 
VI.B. We recommend Tabitha Williamson be employed as a Student Supervisor at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School effective November 4, 2024.

 
VI.C. We recommend Troy Carrington be approved to be a volunteer for the Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School Boys Basketball Team for the 2024-2025 athletic season.
 
VI.D. We recommend approving the attached list of Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School ECA Supervisors/Event Workers.
 
VI.E. We recommend approving the contract amendment with Core Construction for construction services on the Calumet High School fieldhouse and auditorium project.

 
VI.F. We recommend approving a purchase order of over $10,000 to purchase Calumet fieldhouse bleachers.

 
VI.G. We recommend approving the following fundraisers at Calumet New Tech High School:
  • November 12, 2024, to November 26, 2024 – Laundry Detergent sales for the Senior Class account.
  • November 12, 25, December 5,9,12, and 17, 2024 and January 7,9,14,28 and 28, 2025  –  bake sale for the Swim account.
  • November 20, 2024, to November 23, 2024 – Double Good Popcorn sales for the Girl’s Basketball account.
VI.H. We recommend approving the following donations made to Lake Ridge Early Learning at Hosford :
  • December 19, 2024 – 100 toy donation made by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
VI.I. We recommend approving the following donations made to Longfellow New Tech Elementary School:
  • October 31, 2024 - 75 Hams from Ross Community Reformed Church - Total estimated donation value:$1200
  • October 28, 2024 -  1 Case of candy for Calumet Halloween Trunk or Treat from Chartwells and Fred Vaughn.  Estimated donation value $120.
  • October 31, 2024 - 30 assorted Halloween costumes from Jennah Reyes, Wanda Adcock, Josie Cantu.  Estimated donation value $420.

 
VI.J. We recommend approving the following fundraisers at Lake Ridge New Tech Middle School:
  • November 12, 2024, to December 12, 2024 – Spirit Sales for the Boys Basketball account.
  • November 27, 2024, to December 1, 2024 – Double Good Popcorn sales for the boy’s Basketball account.
