II. ASBA Handbook - Retreat Description
Retreats are often used as planning meetings, where vision, mission, core values and goals are discussed. These meetings tend to be less formal and may employ the use of a facilitator so that the president and superintendent can participate equally with the other board members.  Boards generally bring back information from the retreat to a regular board meeting for discussion and action. (ASBA Handbook pg52)
III. Board Retreat - The Mingus Board will participate in a traditional Board Retreat focused on Board Professional Development facilitated by Arizona School Board Association (Superintendent Herne, Julie Bacon, Sarah James)
