Description:
The Intermediate School teachers have been piloting vocabulary materials this year in English Language Arts. In the spring, they had not yet reached a decision on how to proceed, but at the end of the school year they decided to move ahead with the materials they piloted. This is Vocabulary from Latin and Greek Roots by Prestwick House. https://www.prestwickhouse.com/vocabulary-from-latin-and-greek-roots These are good materials and will provide students with vocabulary that will serve them well at the secondary level and beyond. We had a line in the textbook budget for further Intermediate piloting and this purchase will come from this existing allocation. So there is no addition to the budget, but these materials require Board adoption.
Also, Amy Neitzel was on maternity leave when the High School FACE textbook requests were submitted and on further review is requesting some changes. Mary and I are still working with her on options to do this within budget and this will come forward at your next meeting, or directly to a full Board meeting. I need to discuss with you how you want to proceed. |

Description:
This is our preliminary assessment report. The final report comes in the fall after we have received our AP and ACT results. I am also attaching some WKCE growth reports (value-added and student growth percentile (SGP) on this item. I want your feedback on whether you want these included in the final report or not.
