Description:
We have to have a formal resolution to sell the east side of the property. The attorney needs to know if the county was going to take the asphalt. Spoke with Judge Cook again and he will let me know Friday morning about the asphalt. If the county decides not to take the material then language in reference to in kind payment will need to be in the resolution. I expect we will need a special meeting to approve the resolution before we can begin taking bids. We will also have to take bids on the general contractor for the houses.

Description:
I have added additional items to the student transfer agreement. The new items are underlined. The new statements are "borrowed" from Central-Heights ISD. If the board approves these new items, I will have the parents complete the transfer application and have a list of students for the May board meeting.

5.B. Consideration and Motion for Early Discounts for paying taxes
|

Description:
Miami ISD offers a 3%,2%,1% discount for paying school taxes early. My recommendation is to continue to offer this benefit to the tax payers. This allows the district to begin receiving funds in October verses January.

5.C. Consideration and Motion for homestead exemptions.
|

Description:
Miami ISD offers the optional $5,000 or 20% of the taxable value of the home in addition to the $15,000 allowed by the state. For residents over 65, Miami ISD offers the same optional exemptions plus $25,000 allowed by the state. There is a tax ceiling for residents 65 or older unless there are improvements to the house.
