IX.A.1. Galena Park ISD will recognize Compudopt for providing over 400 computers to families throughout the district. GPISD families registered, were randomly selected, then received their free computers on Saturday, October 22, 2022.

IX.A.2. Galena Park ISD will recognize the family of Mr. Kenneth Wayne Wallace, who formerly served as Principal, Associate Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent for Educational Support and School Administration. The Wallace family made a large clothing donation to the GPISD Resource Room.

IX.B.1. Galena Park ISD will recognize Rose Cunanan and Linda Ford, from North Shore Middle School, for being recognized by Summit K-12 as top Middle School ESL Teachers in Texas.

Galena Park ISD will recognize the Galena Park High School Wind Ensemble, directed by KC Christensen, for being selected by the Foundation for Music Education as Commended Winners in the 2022 Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors Project. The following members of the ensemble will be receiving the recognition on behalf of the Galena Park High School Wind Ensemble:

XI.A. Janie Jimenez, Principal of Cimarron Elementary School, will present the Academic Spotlight at the November 14, 2022, board meeting. Ms. Jimenez will highlight some of the outstanding programs and initiatives at Cimarron Elementary. The presentation will be in video format.
