5) School Board Member Replacement Process
|

Description:
With the resignation of Marguerite Carless from the Board, Mr. Greg Eller has been sworn in to continue on the Board. However, it appears to be Mr. Eller's desire to serve only until a replacement can be found. Therefore, the Board needs to establish a process in which to replace Mr. Eller. It is the Administration's recommendation the Board advertise the position and accept applications. The process would then be for the Board to review all applications and interview the candidates in person. The Board can then select a candidate to fill the vacant position. The Board should also establish a timeline for the process. It is the Administration's recommendation the Board formally approve the process during its February 9, 2015 meeting. A suggested timeline is below, if the Board approves the process on February 9, 2015.
February 10-23, 2015: Advertise the Position February 23, 2015: Board Reviews Applicants (Work Session Night) March 2, 2015: Interview Potential Candidates (Special Work Session) March 9, 2015: Appoint New Board Member (Regular Board Meeting Night) |

Description:
The Board needs to discuss the official name for the new elementary school in the Oakland Building. It is the Administration's recommendation for the new school to be called Oakland Elementary. There will be no vote on this item tonight. It is for discussion only.
