Based on the most recent data from the Minnesota Department of Education, the average number of students in a Minnesota public school classroom by grade level is as follows:
  • Kindergarten: Approximately 20–22 students
  • Grades 1-3: Around 22–24 students
  • Grades 4-5: Typically 24–26 students
  • Middle/High School: Usually 20–30 students
