Description:
This project will take place when Route 1 (Iroquois County to south of Rossville) has roads repaved. The purpose of this temporary easement is to allow IDOT access to the sidewalk entrance off of Route 1. With access, they will be able to make the sidewalk entrance handicap accessible and up to code.
I have asked for a design commitment to be prepared for IDOT’s designer requesting the work located at the school’s temporary construction easement be done over the school’s summer break to alleviate concerns over timing of the project. Project Overview - (addresses beyond the school’s TE) : Contract 70840 includes proposed improvements to FAP 332 (IL 1) from the Iroquois County line to 0.2 miles north of the Rossville South Corporate limits. The improvements generally consist of resurfacing the existing pavement, replacement of a culvert 2 miles north of Rossville, and constructing ADA compliant pedestrian ramps in Rossville. The proposed R.O.W./TE is necessary to reconstruct the existing pedestrian sidewalk ramps to current American Disability Act (ADA) design standards. For the locations that require proposed R.O.W & TE, the purpose of the TE is to place the concrete forms necessary to construct the sidewalk and to grade & seed the adjacent earth in areas where the proposed sidewalk grade differs from the existing grade. |
