CANVASSING RETURNS OF VOTES ON BOND REFERENDUM (Action)

Description:
Recommended Motion: BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board
of Independent School District No. 2071 as follows:
1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the special election of the voters of this district held on August 12, 2014, was in all respects duly and legally called and held. 2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast, a total of 1774 voters of the district voted on the said election on the question of : “Shall the school board of Independent School District No. 2071 (Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Area Schools) be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $12,000,000 to provide funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including the construction and equipping of classroom and physical education additions and the completion of various deferred maintenance projects and security enhancement improvements to the existing elementary and secondary school sites and facilities?”, of which 935 voted in favor, 507 voted against the same in relation to this question. 3. Said proposition, having received the approval of at least a majority of such votes, is hereby declared to have carried. 4. The school district clerk is hereby directed to certify the results of the election of the country auditor of each county in which the school district is located in whole or in part.
