Following a comprehensive review and recommendation by the Health Insurance Committee—made up of district staff representing all employee groups—and Gallagher Benefit Services, Lake Shore Public Schools will transition the management of district health insurance from MESSA to "The Pool" effective January 1, 2026. This change is intended to provide long-term cost stability, rate protection, and access to utilization data to help the District better manage future plan design. Employees will remain in the same Blue Cross network, ensuring no provider disruption.
The Western Michigan Health Insurance Pool (WMHIP) is a Public Employer Pooled Plan (PEPP) authorized under the Public Employees Health Benefit Act, Act 106 of 2007. |
