Superintendent Mr. Buresh will call the meeting to order and Chris Kidd will call the roll of members. Mr. Buresh will also introduce any guests that we have present.

There should be no additions to the agenda. The purpose of the 1st quarter finance committee meeting is for preliminary fiscal year 2016 budget dialogue and input and this covers everything on the agenda.

V.A. Ending Fiscal Year 2016 Audited Summary

Description:
Mr. Buresh will generically present audited fiscal year 2016 summary results. It was completed last Friday and was another very outstanding audit. "Segregation of Duties" is the only audit finding this year and we will have that one forever unless you wish to hire 2-3 additional office people. I was pretty "spot on" overall with the numbers that I gave the Board on unaudited fiscal year ending balances. Thanks to Chris Kidd, Brenda Gripp, and Sandy Crosby for once again helping me make this a great audit by the roles they fulfill.

V.B. FY 2017 State Education Budget

Description:
At the end of June a PreK-12 Illinois Education Budget was passed for Fiscal Year 2017. We still haven't seen any real numbers on this and probably won't, but supposedly we are going to at least get the same dollars that we received last year. We will see. No financial numbers are showing up on IWAS yet for us. We did NOT receive all of our allotted transportation claim monies for FY 2016.

Description:
This is the best that I could do today. I had a preliminary budget done a few weeks ago, the auditors finished Friday, and I have been able to decrease expenses by $100,000 the last few days, with some luck going our way next year. Probably not a lot of changes moving forward on this one.

V.D. New Health Insurance generic information sharing

Description:
Mr. Buresh will share generic health insurance information and his recommendation for approval. The current Distric health insurance plan will expire on September 30, 2016. I fully support board approval of our current health insurance plan, extending it until December 31, 2017. This 11% rate is phenomenal for 15 months. By my decision making a year ago along with your support of it, and with this decision, we saved the District over $60,000 in health insurance premiums while maintaining the same plan for our valued employees. If we want to get technical about it, the savings would be over $100,000. I'm sure all of you will agree.
