7.b.1) Fall 2013 MEAP Results
Description:
The state released the embargoed 2013 MEAP data on February 28th.  Our scores dropped in several areas and while we did show progress in some areas, we still lag behind the state in science and social studies.  I will present the results to an upcoming board meeting, but want to emphasize again that the state is gearing up to higher standards in the Common Core to measure whether students are career and college ready.  We will be looking at our areas of concern and setting up a system to monitor more closely content and pacing at the elementary level.  Obviously, there is a lot of work to do and the stakes continue to rise with higher standards.  The move to use NWEA online testing hopefully will help us when the MEAP is replaced in the spring of 2015.
