MSBA Conference:  Everyone is registered unless you have notified Angel about not attending. MSBA Conference will take place on Thursday, January 15, and Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The agenda will be a little different from past years. There will be more breakout sessions on Thursday due to the movement of the awards luncheon to Wednesday evening and a networking social on Wednesday night.

January Meeting:  We will be posting the January meeting date as January 5 beginning at 6:30 pm.  This meeting will be the First Monday in January Organizational Meeting.

The legislative session begins on February 17, 2026 and ends on May 18, 2026. The next budget forecast will be out in February. While this is not a budget year, the forecast will be important on how the state proceeds with some of their mandates.

M.S. 120B.11 requires the school board to adopt the prior year Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness Summary.  In accordance with Becker School District Policy 601, I, along with Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Carla Nolan recommend adopting the 2024-2025 Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness Summary.

4. TRUTH IN TAXATION INFORMATION/PAYABLE 2026 LEVY
Description:
Truth in Taxation information will be presented by Kevin Januszewski, Director of Business Services.  I recommend approving the payable 2026 levy in the amount of $12,447,979.00.  This represents a .03% ($3,602.00) decrease compared to the 2025 levy.
