Description:
3131 - STAFF REDUCTIONS AND RECALLS
It is the policy of this Board that all personnel decisions shall be based on retaining effective teachers, as defined in section 1 of article I of 1937 (Ex Sess) PA 4, MCL 38.71, in situations involving a staffing or program reduction or any other personnel decision resulting in the elimination of a position, when conducting a recall from a staffing or program reduction or any other personnel determination resulting in the elimination of a position, or hiring after a staffing or program reduction or any other personnel determination resulting in the elimination of a position. This policy only applies to a staffing or program reduction and personnel determinations resulting in the elimination of a decision that occur after the effective date of this policy.The Administration is charged with the development and revision of Administrative Guidelines consistent with this Policy and applicable law.This Policy and the Administrative Guidelines developed and revised under this Policy take immediate effect, or, for employees subject to a collective bargaining agreement that prevents compliance with this Policy which was in effect on July 19, 2011, shall be immediately effective upon the expiration of that collective bargaining agreement. |
