Final Update on Summer 2022 Work - Mac HVAC Phase 1 Final Commissioning

Amy and Chris have prepared an update for the Committee to discuss upcoming projects and contract renewals.  The E-Rate contract renewal with Gerry Zeller will be brought to the Finance Committee.

As we have shared, moisture around the foundation at MacArthur has continued to be a significant concern.  The east corner of the building continues to have water pooling and in times of heavy rain, water seeps under the door at location 7.   Mike has been with VIAN Construction and developed a plan to address and correct the drainage for the long term.  Two proposals have been attached to address each location.  A third proposal has been attached showing a discount for proceeding with both sites at the same time.

In cooperation with the Prospect Heights Natural Resource Commission, Dr. Nystrom and Science Teacher, Stephanie Ritter have developed a plan to address the wetfields between MacArthur and Sullivan.  With a schedule of small scale, controlled burns and plantings, they are able to address several of the more invasive species of plants, and seeding it with native plants, over the course of several years.

MacArthur students will be able to participate by helping to plant and water seedlings. Teachers at Ross & Sullivan will be able to use the area to study a wide variety of science topics. The timeline for this project has been attached for the Committee's review 

ARCON has provided a preliminary timeline for upcoming 2023 projects that include the MacArthur Phase 2 HVAC work and the Grodsky basement. The timeline has been attached for the Committee's review.

The Eisenhower Projector Replacement Project is on track for this summer. Projector pricing has been secured through SHI, at a minimal increase per unit ($70) and orders will be placed in the next few weeks for the projectors and Apple TV's.  Pricing was firm from last year's bid on the purchase of the Claridge whiteboards, so we can order once sizes have been confirmed.  We will, however, need to go to bid on the Whiteboard Removal and Wall Restoration work, as we did for the Ross and Sullivan work.  Bids will go out in early November/December.

Following receipt of the benches and tables for Ross and Sullivan, we anticipate final install to be completed in the next few days,  While install was not originally included, we have negotiated a cost for installation with the vendor, NuToys at a total cost of $6,000 for both sites.

Amy & Mike have been working with ARCON Associates to provide an update to the Long Range Facilities Plan, as we approach the halfway point of the 2017 plan.  Building diagrams have been attached for the Committee's review. Additional preliminary items will be provided to the Committee on Tuesday, with the final presentation being made to the Board at the October meeting.
