Description:
As you are aware, much work was completed int he District this summer in addition to the normal deep cleaning and projects that are required for completion after one school year in order to prepare for the next school year.

Description:
As you are aware, the District hired some contract custodians to supplement for workers who were on vacation and to fill positions that were being filled due to vacancies. In addition, the District hired its typical complement of summer helpers.
An update n both classes of summer helpers will be provided. |

II.C. UPDATE SEIU Regular Custodian 4/10 Hour Day Workweek

Description:
As you are aware, for the first time the District's regular custodians worked a 4 day workweek for 10 hours per day during the month of July. This pilot program was authorized by the committee and Board.
An update on the pilot workweek will be provided. |

II.D. Introduction of New Garbage Removal Program
|
|
Description:
As you may be aware, until this year the District only had 1 dumpster located at MacArthur. As such, all garbage was collected twice per day from the schools by the District's custodians in a District vehicle. The overall system was both inefficient and ineffective for multiple reasons. A new garbage collection system has been implemented for the 2018-19 school year in practice and as part of the budget.
The new system will be discussed. |

II.E. Custodial Training Institute for 2018-19 School Year

Description:
Brian Rominski organized and conducted a summer breakfast and training session on Wednesday, August 1st. In addition to the custodians, the principals attended a portion of the training.
An update on the training will be provided. |

II.F. Advance meeting with ARCON
|
|
Description:
At the Administration Advance to prepare for the 2018-19 school year, the entire administration team met with ARCON, the District's architects, in order to discuss the long range plan, preparation for project planning and other issues to improve the awareness of the administration team for items to be on the look out and/or future planning.
An update will be provided. |
