Description:
All speakers are asked to complete the Listening Session Sign-in Form including as much detail as possible and including a printed / written copy of your presentation if one is available. This is an opportunity for the Board to listen, the Board will not engage in dialogue. As a general rule, the Board will not comment on or respond to any comments made by speakers. Please do not include names of Greenbush Middle River employees or representatives, their title, or location in your remarks for your own legal protection and the legal rights of staff.

Each speaker will have five (5) minutes to speak: speakers may not roll their time to another speaker. Speakers will be timed and are asked to complete their comments in this time frame. Board members may ask questions if needed.  Please begin your presentation by stating your name and topic only.

Description:
February is Minnesota School Board Recognition Month. The GMR Staff and community recognizes our elected community members who selflessly give their time and energy in support of a strong Gator experience.

As a crucial bridge between the community and the school district, your efforts are instrumental in helping all of us realize the hopes and dreams we have for the children of Greenbush Middle River.  Thank you.

Description:
  • $4,729.00 - From Wikstrom Telephone Company, Inc.  The history of this donation goes back to early days of internet.  The gift was meant to help cover the cost of access not covered by e-rate.  The donation may be used at the district's discretion.
  • $3000 - Anonymous donation to be used toward needs of GMR Library.
  • $30,000 - Anonymous donation to be used as needed in the GMR School system.
Suggested Board Action:  Motion by ___________________ seconded by ____________________ to accept the following donations to be used as specified; $4,729.00 from Wikstrom Telephone company, $3000 anonymous donation for Library purposes and $30,000 anonymous donation.

Minnesota Statutes, section 120A. 41
-  at least 165 days of instruction for a student in grades 1 through 11 
- at least 425 hours of instruction for a kindergarten student without a disability
-935 hours of instruction for a student in grades 1 through 6
-1,020 hours of instruction for a student in grades 7 through 12, not including summer school.
- all-day kindergarten must include at least 850 hours of instruction
- prekindergarten student under section 124D.151, if offered by the district, must include at least 350 hours of instruction
-may include plans for up to five days of instruction provided through online instruction due to inclement weather.

Contract & Recent Calendars
-no more than 180 days for non first-year teachers
-172 student days
-Sunday before Memorial Day Commencement at 2:00 p.m.
-2 P-T Conf days with early dismissal
-1 day fall break and 2 day fall break (separate)
-Inservice on MLK Day of Service and in February
-Students generally complete school before Memorial Day
