3.B. RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING DATES FOR FILING AFFIDAVITS OF CANDIDACY
Description:
The period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 719 shall begin on July 29, 2014 and shall close on August 12, 2014.  An affidavit of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk and the $2 filing fee paid prior to 5:00 o'clock p.m. on August 12, 2014.  The Affidavit of candidacy must state whether the person is filing for one of the four year terms or to fill the vacancy in term expiring January 2, 2017. Board approval is requested via roll call vote.

Description:
Policy 506.1 Bullying Prohibition
Due to legislative action, the policy committee has incorporated the new language into a carbon copy of MSBA's bullying policy. As the language is mandatory, a first and second reading of this policy can take place at one meeting.  Board action is requested.

Description:
A number of school board policies are mandatory and annually reviewed.  The list of policies for review and approval are attached.  The only policies that has been altered are the bullying prohibition policy (506.1) and 902 guidelines (attached).  There will be a second and final reading, if needed, at the July 14, 2014 regular board meeting.
