Board Policy Update 120: Dr. Myrna Blanchard, Director of Talent Acquisition and Policy has provided a link to Policy Update 120 with recommended LOCAL policy changes to: CB(LOCAL): State and Federal Revenue Resources- Federal Awards; CKC(LOCAL): Emergency Operations Plan; DC(LOCAL): Employment Practices-Employment of Contractual Personnel; FNG(LOCAL): Complaints- Other Complaint Processes; FO(LOCAL): Corporal Punishment, Physical Restraint, Video and Audio Monitoring.

8.C. Campus Recognition: Cathy Williams, Principal at Castleberry High School, will introduce the students who will be recognizing how staff, students, and parents are Better Together at CHS and in CTE.
8.D. Recognition of Guests: Nicole McDorman, Elementary Science Coordinator, and Marcey Cogar, Secondary Science Coordinator, will recognize the 2022-2023 Science Fair Winners.
9. CONSENT AGENDA
9.A. Consider Approval of Board Minutes from March 6, 2023, for a Regular Meeting.
9.B. Consider Approval of extending Hankins, Eastup, Deaton, Tonn and Seay to provide auditing services to CISD for Fiscal Year 2023: Castleberry ISD continues to have a good working relationship with Hankins, Eastup, Deaton, Tonn and Seay. Administration recommends extending the agreement with Hankins, Eastup, Deaton, Tonn and Seay for the fourth one (1) year extension for the 2023 fiscal year audit.
9.C. Consider Approval of Child Nutrition Department renovations and equipment not to exceed $659,000.00 for the Castleberry High School and Gary S. Jones Administration Building. Funding Source: Child Nutrition.
9.D. Consider Approval of the Renewal of the Food Service Management Contract with SODEXO for one additional year. As required by the Texas Department of Agriculture, the District accepted proposals for this service in the Spring of 2022. The mandated term of the contract was for one year with four one-year renewal options. Administration recommends extending the agreement with SODEXO for the first one (1) year extension for the 2023.2024 school year.
10. ACTION ITEMS
10.A. Consider All Matters related to Teaching, Learning, and Innovation, including, but not limited to reports, finances, and/or proposals.
10.A.1. Consider Approval of the 2023-2024 TEKS Certification Form. School districts are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that for each subject in the required curriculum other than physical education, students have access to instructional materials that cover all the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Districts will be unable to order 2023-24 instructional materials through EMAT until the certification has been received by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
10.A.2. Consider Approval of a Staff Development Minutes Waiver to TEA for a Maximum of 2,100 total Waiver Minutes.

10.B.1. Consider Approval of the food trailer from Chef Units not to exceed $64,299.37 for Child Nutrition.

10.D.1. Consider Approval of Contract Renewals: Renee Smith-Faulkner, Superintendent of Schools, will present a recommendation to the Board of Education to approve 2023-2024 contract renewals for Campus Assistant Principals, Campus Academic Leaders, and Other Professional Staff.
10.D.2. Consider Approval of Probationary Contract Termination: The Superintendent of Schools will present a recommendation to the Board of Education, proposed termination of a probationary teacher contract, which is in the best interest of the district, as recommended by the Superintendent.
10.E. Consider Approval of the Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with Tarrant County Elections.
10.F. Consider and/or Approve Resolution against Vouchers, Educational Savings Accounts, Taxpayer Savings Grants, and other Mechanisms that reduce Public Education Funding.

11.B.1. Employee Agreement Approvals: Renee Smith-Faulkner, Superintendent of Schools, reports no approved Employee Agreements for Professional Staff for the 2022-2023 school year as of April 3, 2023.
11.B.2. Employee Resignation Update: Dr. Myrna Blanchard, Director of Talent Acquisition and Policy, reports 39 professional resignations as of April 3, 2023.
