Description:
Calendar: Every two years, stakeholders from all bargaining groups meet to discuss the school calendar for ISD282. In addition, per SAVEA master contract, the union and the school board determine the breakdown of teacher work days that are not student contact. The Calendar Committee recommends the board to approve the calendar as presented.

The purpose of this policy is to comply with the Minnesota Veterans Preference Act (VPA) which provides preference points for veterans applying for employment with political subdivisions, including school districts, as well as additional rights for veterans in the discharge process.

Per statute, district administration must inform the board and impacted staff of potential non-renews and unrequested leaves of absence for the upcoming school year. This information is being provided, because the School Board is required to take action on all nonrenews and unrequested leaves of absence at the April 1, 2025 School Board meeting
