| Presenter: |
Stephen Edwards/Amber Flowers
Description:
In 1995, the 74th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2459. HB 2459 consolidated chapter 2256 of the Texas Governmental Code into an expanded Public Funds Investment Act that requires each district to adopt an investment policy and strategy. We have both of these in place (Policy CDA). It also requires the Board’s annual review of the investment policy and investment strategy. The 75th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2799, which further amended the Public Funds Investment Act. Section 2256.005 of the Public Funds Investment Act also requires annual formal action by the Board stating that the district’s investment policy and investment strategies have been reviewed and approved. Any changes made to either document should be recorded in the acknowledgment. Our policy and strategy were adopted in TASB Policy Update 122 and 124, adopted on November 11, 2023, and January 15, 2025 (Legal and Local), respectively. No changes are recommended for the 2026-2027 school year.
