Subject:
6.A. Open Resource Update
Description:

ReadWorks

  • There is an update to ReadWorks. We are excited to share that ReadWorks, an open educational resource, is now aligned with UFLI, our K-2 foundational skills program, and Bookworms, our K-5 primary ELA resource. This alignment gives teachers easy access to high-quality, connected texts that can reinforce foundational skills, build background knowledge and vocabulary, and provide additional opportunities for students to practice comprehension with content that complements core instruction.

OpenSciEd

  • OpenSciEd remains a high-quality, open educational resource that we use to support standards-aligned science instruction. It provides teachers with high quality, ready-to-use, STEELS aligned, 3D-based lessons, instructional resources, and embedded assessments that support the instructional routines and inquiry-based learning reducing the need for teachers to independently develop materials.

Engineering byDesign (EbD)

  • Pennsylvania participates as an Engineering byDesign (EbD) Consortium State, providing educators access to free K-12 technology and engineering curriculum, instructional resources, and professional learning developed by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA). The district continues to draw upon these resources to develop and refine STEELS-aligned Technology and Engineering units, lessons, and professional learning, providing a consistent, standards-aligned foundation for our ongoing curriculum work.
