6. CONSIDERATION OF THE TAX RATE FOR 2026
|

Description:
In accordance with provisions of Section 26.06 of the Texas Tax Code, Amarillo College will publish a legal notice on August 17, 2026, stating that the no-new-revenue tax rate for the Amarillo Junior College District for 2026 is $ 0.21717 per $100 of assessed value. The voter-approval tax rate for the Amarillo Junior College District for 2026 published in the legal notice is $ 0.24671 per $100 of assessed value.
Section 26.05 of the Tax Code requires a taxing unit to hold one public hearing on a tax rate. The recommended tax rate is $ 0.24670. After discussion, the Board may wish to propose the tax rate. |

This item is on the agenda in order for the regents to receive updates on a collaboration between Amarillo College and the City of Amarillo Police Department and on related campus services. A representative from the City of Amarillo Office of Emergency Management will be in attendance.
