We’ve completed all items identified during the fire marshal inspection, most of which were minor corrections.

The sprinkler system beneath the kitchen hoods at the high school has been updated. This system had previously been red-tagged for the past two years, so resolving this issue was a significant priority.

We are continuing to transition to LED lighting throughout the buildings, replacing fixtures gradually as existing lights burn out. Fluorescent bulbs are no longer available, making this conversion necessary.

Additionally, we obtained a quote to address a structural concern at the elementary school. Most of the east wall by the playground has been bowing outward during the winter months. The plan is to remove portions of the brick and block to investigate and resolve the underlying moisture issue.

VIII.C. Elementary Principal Report

MCA Reading testing at the elementary is complete (other than a couple of make-up tests).  We will test math and science over the next couple of weeks.

We had a new 4th grader start last week.  We have a new 2nd and 3rd grader starting mid-April.  We also have a new 3rd and 6th grader starting in early May.  There are students leaving as well.

We are working on completing our ESY and summer Targeted Services plan as well as 26-27 teaching schedules.  Our special education staff, Melissa Notch, and our intervention teams put a lot of time into this process, but we feel like we are making small improvements to our schedules each year to provide better services for our students.
