Donna ISD wishes to exercise the first of the (2) year renewal options as stated in the original bid.  The contract term will be from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

The purchase of classroom furniture for Donna North High School is necessary to support a safe, functional, and effective learning environment for students and staff.  Much of the existing furniture is outdated, worn, or no longer meets the needs of modern instructional practices.  New classroom furniture will provide ergonomic support for students, promote better posture, and enhance overall comfort, which contributes to improved focus and academic performance.  Additionally, updated furniture allows for more flexible classroom configurations that support collaborative learning and group instruction.

It will provide the district with opportunities to purchase from a selection of awarded vendors in an effort to secure the best value for the district and comply with Purchasing Procedures.

Approval requested for the renewal of Absolute Resilience, which is a tracking and management license for district laptops. 

Senate Bill 13 requires the review and board approval of library materials procurement list prior to purchasing library materials.  The proposed procurement list was posted on the Donna ISD website for 30 days for public viewing and comment prior to board approval as per Senate Bill 13 requirements. See attached proposed procurement list. 

In accordance with Texas Education Code §31.1011, school districts are required to annually certify to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that, for each subject in the required curriculum (excluding physical education), students have access to instructional materials that fully cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the upcoming school year. Additionally, pursuant to 19 TAC §66.105, districts must certify compliance with protections against access to obscene or harmful content, in alignment with the Children’s Internet Protection Act.These certifications must be ratified by the Board of Trustees in a public, noticed meeting and submitted to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Failure to complete and submit these certifications will result in the district being unable to order instructional materials through EMAT.

Approval of these High School Affiliation Agreements (MOUs) will allow students in Donna ISD Health Science programs to participate in clinical learning experiences, supporting hands-on training and career readiness.

Approve a resolution affirming Donna ISD's commitment to providing all students safe and uninterrupted access to public education, regardless of immigration status. The resolution designates District campuses as Safe Zones, establishes procedures for responding to immigration enforcement requests, ensures compliance with FERPA and District policy, and directs dissemination of the resolution to staff, students, parents.

Approval of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will outline the roles and responsibilities of South Texas College and Donna Independent School District in supporting dual credit ad early college opportunities.

Approval of the Optional Flexible School Day Program (OFSDP) will allow Donna Independent School District to provide flexible instructional hours and days of attendance for eligible students across all participating elementary, middle, and high school campuses for the 2026-2027 school year. District wide implementation will support at-risk students, improve attendance outcomes, facilitate promotion and graduation, and ensure continued compliance with the Texas Education Code and Texas Education Agency requirements. 

Approval of the 2027-2028 Academic School Year Calendar is necessary to establish instructional days, student and staff holidays, professional development days, and reporting periods in compliance with Texas Education Code requirements. Adoption of the calendar will allow the district to communicate key dates to staff, students, families, and the community for planning purposes and ensure alignment with the instructional and operational needs of Donna Independent School District. The calendar was selected through a voting process in which DISD staff participated.

Out-of-State travel to attend Skill USA Nationals 2026 Conference in Atlanta, GA on June 1–6, 2026

Payment of yearly subscription past due invoice for SY 24-25 and current invoice for  SY 25-26.  Parchment is an official electronic platform used to order academic records online.  Provides a secure, digital-first service that allows students, alumni and counselor to send transcripts to colleges, employers, or for personal use.

As per policy BE (Local) the written minutes of all meetings shall be approved by vote of the board and signed by the Board President and the Board Secretary.
