The purchase of classroom furniture for Donna North High School is necessary to support a safe, functional, and effective learning environment for students and staff. Much of the existing furniture is outdated, worn, or no longer meets the needs of modern instructional practices. New classroom furniture will provide ergonomic support for students, promote better posture, and enhance overall comfort, which contributes to improved focus and academic performance. Additionally, updated furniture allows for more flexible classroom configurations that support collaborative learning and group instruction.

Description:
In accordance with Texas Education Code §31.1011, school districts are required to annually certify to the State Board of Education and the commissioner that, for each subject in the required curriculum (excluding physical education), students have access to instructional materials that fully cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for the upcoming school year. Additionally, pursuant to 19 TAC §66.105, districts must certify compliance with protections against access to obscene or harmful content, in alignment with the Children’s Internet Protection Act.These certifications must be ratified by the Board of Trustees in a public, noticed meeting and submitted to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Failure to complete and submit these certifications will result in the district being unable to order instructional materials through EMAT. |
