Description:
This section of the Board of Education meeting provides the opportunity to share any FOIA Request(s) and/or Response(s) with all in attendance.
"The president or district superintendent shall, at each regular board meeting, report any requests made of the district under provisions of the Freedom of Information Act and shall report the status of the district’s response." 105 ILCS 5/10-16. On April 17, 2025, the District received a FOIA request from Owen Wang from The McHenry Times, requesting material: "Policies and Guidance Any and all policies, procedures, guidelines, or administrative directives concerning religious accommodations for students, including, but not limited to accommodations related to Ramadan observance; Ramadan-Specific Records Any and all records, including memoranda, guidance documents, or internal communications, specifically addressing accommodations for students observing Ramadan; Prayer Accommodations During School Hours Any and all records reflecting policies, practices, or guidance regarding student prayer during the school day, including but not limited to:Use of designated spaces for prayer; Permission to leave class for religious observance; Staff instructions or administrative guidance concerning such practices; Implementation and Communication Any communications, including emails or memoranda, between district administrators, school staff, or external entities concerning the implementation of accommodations for students observing Ramadan; Complaints or Requests Any records reflecting requests for religious accommodations related to Ramadan, and any records reflecting how such requests were handled, including summaries or reports (excluding personally identifiable student information)." The District responded to Mr. Wang on April 22, 2026, and supplied the requested policy. On April 28, 2026, the District received a FOIA request from Piper Butler from The Data Branch, requesting material: "all executed contracts, agreements, purchase orders, and related procurement documents for products or services purchased from any of the following vendors or their authorized resellers, for the period January 1, 2021, to the present: All products from: Primex, American Time, and/or Sapling." The District responded to Ms. Butler on May 1, 2026, that no information exists. On April 30, 2026, the District received a FOIA request from Cheyenne O’Brien from The Data Branch, requesting material: "all executed contracts, agreements, purchase orders, and related procurement documents for products or services purchased from any of the following vendors or their authorized resellers, for the period January 1, 2021, to the present: **All products from:** Blackboard Inc, Finalsite, DMX, Funds for Learning, E-Rate Consulting, N-Able, Raptor Technologies, and/orCSM Consulting." The District responded to Ms. O’Brien on May 6, 2026, and shared the agreements and purchase orders for Finalsite and Raptor Technologies. On May 6, 2026, the District received a FOIA request from Paula Silva from The Data Branch, requesting material: "all executed contracts, agreements, purchase orders, and related procurement documents for products or services purchased from any of the following vendors or their authorized resellers, for the period January 1, 2021, to the present: All products from Absolute Software, Incident IQ, Hazel Health, Brandon Industries, CSM Consulting, and Funds for Learning." The District responded to Ms. Silva on May 8, 2026, that no information exists. |

Description:
The following Financial Reports are intended to provide the Board with essential information, which will enable them to exercise informed stewardship over the financial operation of Harrison School District #36.
A Budgetary Report and a Treasurer’s Report may appear solely for Board information but an Agenda of Bills and a Payroll Report must be brought before the Board for their action. Clarification or additional information can be provided by contacting either the Bookkeeper or the Superintendent prior to the meeting. Reports Agenda of Bills & Payroll Do require a motion. Reports Budgetary & Treasurer Report do NOT require a motion. |

Description:

Description:
The Treasurer’s Report provides a summary of Revenues and Expenditures for the prior month, by fund. It also shows the balance of each Bank/Investment Account at the end of the month.
The cash-in and cash-out numbers represent liabilities from Payroll. The liabilities are monies, such as IMRF, Annuities, Health Insurance, etc. that are deducted from paychecks and are held as "cash" until they go to the respective vendors. This report does not require a motion. |

Description:
The Board of Education may discuss action items prior to taking formal action.
Following the discussion, the Public Comment agenda item will give the community the opportunity to make comments prior to the Board taking action.
In accordance with Board Policy 2:220-E1, the Board should approve the destruction of closed session recording(s) that are at least 18 months old and for which approved minutes of the closed meeting already exist. This meeting will contain the approval of the destruction of closed session recordings prior to December 1, 2024.

9) Public Comments

Description:
The administration recommends that they be given an opportunity to deal with any presented problems, complaints or suggestions of an educational nature if they have not had the opportunity to do so. Parents or community members who have a question or concern should be directed to the Superintendent as the first point of contact. If there is no satisfactory resolution to the educational or administrative matters presented at this juncture of the Board meeting, the individual or individuals addressing the Board indeed have the right to a further Board hearing and reaction.
Board of Education Policy 2:230 Public Participation at Board of Education Meetings and Petitions to the Board At each regular and special open meetings, members of the public, and District employees may comment to, or ask questions of, the Board of Education, subject to reasonable constraints. The individuals appearing before the Board are expected to follow these guidelines:
