5. Positive Highlights and Celebrations
5.A. Saginaw ISD and the Saginaw Intermediate Federation of Teachers (SIFT) are pleased to announce the successful settlement and signing of our professional staff collective bargaining agreement. This agreement reflects the commitment of both SIFT and SISD to working collaboratively, supporting our educators, and keeping students at the center of our work.
5.B. Our leadership team spent two impactful days at Hartley Outdoor Education Center, focusing on coaching, feedback, leadership styles, and the urgency of now. A special thank you to Dr. Jill Baker for facilitating our learning and helping prepare us to put our purpose into action.
5.C. Congratulations to Saginaw ISD Board Secretary, Laura Sue Holcomb, on earning the Level 7 President's Award of Recognition through the Michigan Association of School Boards!
5.D. Saginaw ISD's Opening Day was held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Temple Theater.
