Mr. Chris Krause signed up, prior to 5:30 p.m., to speak during Open Forum regarding current air conditioning issues. He has been contacted by several parents/guardians and community members regarding the e-note received detailing the time frame on getting new units installed within the district where needed. Mr. Krause wanted to make known the timeline he had in working with RISD on various A/C quotes and approvals.

V. Budget Workshop

Discussion:
The Budget Workshop opened with member Bryan Strand expressing thanks to Director of Finance, Tess Baker, for doing a great job on this year's budget. Mrs. Baker reviewed an estimate on the Fund Balance along with additional changes that affect the draft budget the board was sent a week prior. Additionally, she reviewed a recap of the preliminary budget and current enrollment estimate as well as work which will need to be done prior to the next board meeting on payroll and compensation plan. Board member, Bryan Strand, requested to see comparisons of budgets related to band, athletics and drama. Other discussions were held regarding: Substitute Teacher Pay; ESSER funds; Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Bowie County,TX; Bus Driver pay; Cheer program's need for a portable mirrored wall; possibility of a maintenance loan; the need for a 5-year maintenance schedule plan; and the Principals of Law class taught at RHS.

The RISD Board of Trustees entered into Closed Session at 5:35 p.m. under Texas Government Code 551.074 Personnel, and 551.076 Deliberation Regarding Security Devices or Security Audits. The board reconvened to Open Session at 6:33 p.m. At 7:25 p.m., the Board entered into a second Executive Session and reconvened back into Open Session at 10:11 p.m.
