Description:

8.1.b. Board Book

Description:

BoardBook is a web-based software application that streamlines the distribution and publishing of agenda packets.
BoardBook will allow all district residents to view agenda upon release and as edited.
BoardBook is available by annual subscription.

8.1.c. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS : Roseau Rams Clay Target Team

Description:

Roseau Ram Clay Target Team captured the 2019 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship while competing in National Competition in Mason, Michigan July 12th - 14th.
Roseau Team competing at National Championships consisted of 7 members (5 participants and 2 alternates)
Team members included:
Tyler Dirks, Nolan Hanson, Jonathan Hosaluk, Beau Keagle, Owen Moser. Team members Ruthie Finney and Dalton Hanson served as alternates.
Darren Hedlund accompanied the students to National Competition as Head Coach Troy Weiland was unable to attend.
The Roseau Ram Clay Target team successfully captured 964 clay targets out of a total of 1000.
Roseau wins National Championship winning by 2 over second place team Calhoun High School from Illinois.

8.1.d. Interest Based Collective Bargaining

Description:

Formal request has been submitted to the Bureau of Mediation Services
Currently In the process of determining agreed upon dates for members of the Roseau Teacher Association Negotiations committee as well as the Roseau School Board and the Bureau of Mediation Services
If agreeable meetings may take place in the evening as well as the weekend.

Description:

Review existing members of the Roseau School Task Force
Discuss formation of a subset consisting of a reduced number of original task force members as well as the addition of all Roseau School Board Members.

Description:

Questions prepared for board consideration are a direct product of Roseau School District survey respondents.
Dollar amounts in terms of tax tolerance and project priorities have been identified and are reflected in potential questions.

8.1.h. Long Term Facility Maintenance Plan

Description:

LTFM is a product of State of Minnesota Legislative action
School Districts are eligible for funding for facility maintenance over a 10 year period.
Revenue is a combination of:
Local Levy
State share of equalized revenue
LTFM 10 year plan must be approved annually
Plan may be adjusted or modified as needed
Funds carry over from one year to the next

Description:

Roseau School District approves Miscellaneous Fee Schedule annually
Miscellaneous Fee Schedule indicates costs associated for participation and/or attendance in the following categories:
Athletic Participation Fees
Student Activity Fees

Community Swimming Pool Admission
Weight Room Admission
School Lunch Program (*Adult meal prices as determined by State guidelines)

Roseau School District currently is a member of the Minnesota School
Board Association
Membership dues are required annually
MSBA assists the Roseau School District on a variety of issues such
as policy development, negotiations, human resources, advice based on legal precedent, legislative lobbying

8.1.k. Minnesota Rural Education Association

Description:

MREA advocates exclusively for Greater Minnesota School Districts
MREA provides guidance and information relating to best practice within education, professional development opportunities as well as legislative policy
MREA provides a voice at the Minnesota Legislature advocating for policy, testifying
before committees as well as informing legislators on the issues that impact rural education.
Membership dues are required annually

8.1.l. Roseau School District Staffing

Description:

Elementary Teacher Andrea Hogenson Submitted letter of resignation effective July 1, 2019
Discussions currently underway regarding elementary staffing requirements for 2019-2020 academic year.

8.1.m. Minnesota School Board Association Summer Seminar

Description:

"Bold Leadership"
Keynote Speakers include: Jolly Corley "Bold Leadership in Action", Susan Brower "Changing Student Demographics" and Bukata Kayes "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion"
August 5th - 6th (early bird session begins August 4th)
Board members should contact Superintendent Jerome as soon as possible registration information and additional details as needed.
