Description:  AASB Conditions for Learning (CFL) team will make a presentation and offer a Q&A on the AASB grant-funded programs currently supporting your district: Project Transform, and Full Service Community Schools.

Description:  This policy has been updated to include a new Alaska Statute, AS 14.03.087, which was enacted this legislative session. It states that beginning January 1, 2028, Districts are prohibited from serving breakfasts and lunches that include certain color additives (dyes).

Description:  This update revises the note to reflect that the statute requiring community school programs has long been repealed. It has been updated to state that community school programs may still be operated voluntarily.

Description:  This bylaw has been updated to provide guidelines on the retention of board minutes and the retention of recordings (including audio and visual recordings) made during board meetings.

Description:  This bylaw has been updated to include language implementing a new law passed this legislative session.

Description:  This bylaw has been updated to reflect various changes to law made during this legislative session. Specifically, it includes language to establish: 1) municipal governments may by ordinance modify the length of a school board member’s term in office, 2) that REAA school board members may be employed by their district as substitute teachers, and 3) the language regarding board member eligibility described in the changes to BB 9210.

Description:  This bylaw has been updated to include language implementing a new law that was passed this legislative session, which prohibits persons who have been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude from serving on school boards. There is an exception for those who have been unconditionally discharged and at least 10 years have passed since that date.

Description:  This bylaw has been updated to clarify that the Board may delegate ministerial duties of the Clerk/Secretary to the Superintendent or designee, including a hired Executive Secretary (as many boards currently do).
