I.C.1) Special Education – Teacher Recognition: Elizabeth Longshore, Special Education Supervisor of Offsite Programs, will be recognizing Jennifer Richardson, Meadowview Teacher, for being selected as the November Teacher of the Month by State Representative Angela Witwer’s office.
I.C.2) Special Education – Transition Services: Staci Anderson, Transition Coordinator; Beth Lundy, Meadowview Mildly Cognitively Impaired (MICI) Teacher; and Sarah Mida, Giving Eaton County Kids Opportunities (GECKO) Coordinator, will provide a brief overview of the Special Education Transition Services across Eaton County. This will include work-based learning, training, college exploration and prep, accessing community agencies, summer transition programming and the GECKO program.

I.E.2) Taking Pride in Pregnancy Prevention (TPIP) Lansing School District Subcontract: Kim Thalison, Prevention Program Services Supervisor, is requesting that the Board authorize the Superintendent to execute a subcontract agreement with the Lansing School District for the TPIP program in an amount not to exceed $43,500. The subcontract provides coordination, staffing, and support for the curriculum delivered per grant outcomes. The agreement is from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.

I.E.3) Second Reading – NEOLA Policy Update Vol. 36, No. 1: Based on review by the Superintendent, key administrators and district legal counsel, the following revised bylaws and policies are being provided to the Board for second reading to maintain compliance with revised state and federal regulations and interpretations. Topics addressed include public participation at Board meetings, staff employment, spending of federal funds, student fees, property inventory, and public, personnel and student records.

I.F. Information Items
I.F.1) 2021-2026 Strategic Plan Progress Update: Cindy Anderson, Superintendent, will provide an update on progress being made with planning and initial implementation of the Eaton RESA 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, which the Board approved on June 16, 2021.

I.F.2) Capital Projects Plan: Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, will share updates to the 10-year capital projects plan, along with identified projects for 2021-22 and 2022-23. The plan was developed as a tool to address building improvement needs and provide a schedule so that upgrades are completed in a timely manner. The plan also assists in the financial planning of how projects are to be funded.
I.F.3) Meadowview MICI Storefront Upgrades: For several years, Eaton RESA has rented storefront property downtown Charlotte for the MICI program. The space is used for instruction, daily living skills and as a retail venue to sell greeting cards that the students make. Tina Monroe, Executive Director of Finance & Operations, will share facility upgrades that were completed over the summer.
I.F.4) CTE Program Updates: Kathleen Szuminski, Assistant Superintendent for Career & Technical Education, will provide updates on the development of: 1) a new construction technology program in partnership with LCC for 2022-23 and 2) a unique business partnership with our engineering program and LCC for this school year.
