4.9. Approval of hire of Parker LaLonde for the Technology Support Level I - Temporary Summer position at a rate of $21.72/hour effective May 22, 2023.

4.10. Approval of hire of Ashley Prout for the Summer Day Camp Assistant position at a rate of $15.00/hour effective June 5, 2023 through August 26, 2023.

5.9. Superintendent.

5.9.1. Juneteenth is now a state holiday: Governor Tim Walz has signed legislation that establishes Juneteenth as a state holiday. Juneteenth recognizes the historical pronouncement of the abolition of slavery on June 19, 1865, when the Emancipation Proclamation was said to have been first publicly read in Texas by Union soldiers.

As is the case with other holidays defined in Minnesota Session Laws 2023 Chapter 5, no public business can be conducted on this day. This means schools cannot hold classes or programs, school board meetings, athletic practices and competitions, and other school-associated events.

This also means no school employees, other than those needed on an emergency basis, will be working on June 19, 2023.

6. Administration Items:

6.1. Consider approval of Rock Ridge Elementary Handbook 2023-2024.

6.2. Consider approval of request from Mark Eskola LLC for items from the Goodman Auditorium to be utilized by the Alhambra Theatre in Duluth.

6.3. Consider approval of request from Maco Matters, a nonprofit organization, for the donation of four chandeliers and the 20 foot mechanical screen from Goodman Auditorium. 

6.4. Consider approval of request from Greg Foster to purchase the blue, foam panels from Malone Hall and Annex Buildings for $400. 

6.5. Consider approval of Services Contract between Arrowhead Regional Computing Consortium (ARCC) and Rock Ridge Public Schools for FY 24.

6.6. Consider approval of renewing MSBA memberships for 2023-2024 in the amount of $10,358.00. Includes ISD membership, BoardBook subscription, and Policy Services subscription.

6.7. Consider approval of Resolution To Close The Virginia High School.

7. Meeting Announcements:

7.1. The next regular meeting will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 6:00 PM at the Rock Ridge Administration Building, 1405 Progress Pkwy, Virginia.

8. Closed Session for preliminary consideration of allegations against an individual who is subject to the Board’s Authority pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D.05, subd. 2(b).
