Description:  This is a meeting of the Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District's business and is not to be considered a public community meeting.

6. Resident Comments
Description:  At this time the board would like to invite any member of the audience to stand with comments about items of interest or concern that do or do not appear on the agenda this evening. Please begin by stating your name and address. It would be appreciated if you would limit your comments to three minutes so that we can keep the meeting moving in a timely fashion and allow others an opportunity to speak. We ask that you remember that Wisconsin law prohibits us from discussing specific employees or their job performance. Thank you for your support of our school district.

7.A. Student Council Report
Description:  The Student Council Sergeant at Arms will provide an update on the recent activities of various student co-curricular clubs. 
7.B. Lunch & Learn 2.0
Description:  Associate Principals Brian Belot and Mark Peperkorn will provide the board with an update of the Lunch and Learn 2.0 strategy to deploy interventions for students during the school day.  
7.C. First Consideration of a Ballot Question for Extending the Life of the High School
Description:  The Board of Education commissioned a facility study conducted by Nexus, a third-party consultant that does not self-perform contractual work.  The report was delivered to the board, and the board subsequently authorized a survey of the community by School Perceptions to gather community input.  The survey results were shared at the last board meeting.  The results recommended a phased approach to extending the useful life of the building and grounds.  Based on community feedback, the first phase was suggested to be between $17.5M and $19.5M.

The District secured financing plans through PMA for a $17.5M referendum and $20M referendum and found a corresponding mall rate range of $0.00 and $0.06.  The mill rate translates to no tax impact on a $300K home for a $17.5M referendum (due to prior debt defeasement) and $18 annually on a $300K home for a $20M referendum.

The District bundled possible facility improvement measures for the board to consider in the first phase of facility improvements.  District administrators will share the pros and cons of each bundled approach.  

A sample ballot is provided if the board desires a referendum on the April 5, 2022 ballot.  A resolution would need to be adopted on or before January 22, 2022.

Description:  Four new courses have been proposed by the following departments: Agriculture, Art, Physical Education/Health, and Science. Information on each of the courses is attached. The courses will be offered starting with the 2021-2022 school year.
