5. Resident Participation and/or Agenda Revision
Description:  At this time the board would like to invite any member of the audience to stand with comments about items of interest or concern that do or do not appear on the agenda this evening. Please begin by stating your name and address. It would be appreciated if you would limit your comments to three minutes so that we can keep the meeting moving in a timely fashion and allow others an opportunity to speak. We ask that you remember that Wisconsin law prohibits us from discussing specific employees or their job performance. Thank you for your support of our school district.
6. Items For Board Action
6.A. Board Direction on Opening Schools Week 3 and Forward
Description:  At the last board meeting, the Board took action to implement the Hybrid instructional model for the first two weeks of school allowing students/staff time to practice safety protocols in the building. At this time, the Board is meeting again to review and decide on how to move forward with opening WUHS.The Administration will make their final recommendation at the meeting.
6.B. Increase of Custodial Staff FTE
Description:  The number of custodians is one less than recommended for a building this size.  Best practice for a school the size of Waterford (149 classrooms/spaces, 81 teachers, 1049 students, and 288,000 square feet) requires 8.875 (roughly 9) custodial staff.  Currently, staffing levels are at 7.75 (roughly 8).  I recommend increasing two part-time custodians to shift to full-time to adequately deep clean and sanitize during the pandemic and possibly beyond.  The new employee would be added to the third shift to support events earlier in the day.
