IX.I.1. The Town Board has approved an expense of $18,000 to purchase a replacement van for BPRD

IX.I.2. Performance Auto Group (Bubba Godwin) sourced a 2015 Chevrolet 3500 van with 39,000 miles

IX.I.3. We are requesting an increase of $900 to purchase said van at a cost not to exceed $18,900 (excluding tax).

IX.J. Direction is needed regarding BFD Engine #2 that was damaged during Hurricane Matthew
|
IX.J.1. Engine #2 is a 1996 pumper unit that is at the end of its useful life

IX.J.2. Currently our insurance carrier will provide $36,000 in repair funds toward the unit

IX.J.3. Does the BOC desire for the BFD to repair or replace the truck?

IX.J.3.a. A custom replacement engine will cost approximately $435,000.

IX.J.3.a.1. A 10-year loan of $400,000 will cost approximately $48,000 per year

IX.J.3.a.2. A 15-year loan of $400,000 will cost approximately $36,000 per year

IX.J.3.b. The current fire tax rate ($0.09) and BFD budget cannot support an additional payment

IX.J.3.b.1. A Fire Tax increase of $.01 will generate approximately $40,000 per year in revenue

IX.J.3.b.2. A Fire Tax increase of $.015 will generate approximately $60,000 per year in revenue

IX.J.3.b.3. A Fire Tax increase of $.02 will generate approximately $80,000 per year in revenue

IX.J.3.c. Delivery time for a new truck is approximately 12-months from the date of order.
