5.A. Consent Agenda

Description:
The Lane ESD
Board of Directors has agreed to implement a consent agenda. All items in the consent agenda are adopted
by a single motion unless a member of the Board or the Superintendent requests
that such item be removed from the consent agenda and acted upon separately.
Generally, consent agenda items are matters which members of the Board agree are routine in nature and should be acted upon in one motion to conserve time and to enable the Board to focus on the other matters on the agenda. Back-up materials for consent agenda items are included in the agenda packet as needed. Minutes of this meeting will reflect action on each item. If any board member wishes to withdraw any consent group item, it will be moved to the appropriate section of the agenda. 7. Information from Administrative Staff

Description:
The
directors of Human Resources and Title Programs, Special Education, Business Services, Technology and School Improvement have submitted written reports to the Board on matters of interest
concerning his/her area of responsibility. Technology Spring is usually a time where the Technology department puts focus
on Professional Development opportunities for district staff. In
January and February we will have hosted trainings by three different
organizations. Apple on Mobile Device Management, HPE on their new
Aruba OS8 platform, and Fortinet on the Fortianalyzer tools. Bringing vendors in and encouraging district attendance not only grows the skills
of the county technical staff, but also helps build a network of
professionals throughout the county. |

Vanessa TruettRose Wilde Erin Zygaitis: Last month I went to the Bethel student success
meeting. It was very well organized with lots of data and charts to help
spark conversations. I appreciated that they tried to lower the barrier
for attending by offering child care (my daughter loved it). Sadly,
while there were probably 45 to 50 people there the vast majority of
them were administrators, teachers, board members and other staff. I
estimate there were probably only 5 or so parents there who weren't
otherwise associated with the school district. I
attended Oshogatsu at Kelly middle school. It was a celebration of
Japanese New Year. There were traditional arts and crafts, taiko
drumming, and food made by students from a CTE class, i believe. It
was well attended and the children seem to have a very good time.
