Description:
Public Comments: The Board will accept public comments for the Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 meeting. The Board is committed to the public comment process and will consider all public comment seriously. Public Comments for virtual meetings will continue to follow School Board Policy BDDH - Public Participation in Board Meetings.
PLEASE NOTE: Anyone wishing to sign up and speak during the Public Comments section of the agenda shall follow Board Policy (BDDH-Public Participation in Board Meetings) which states: "A person speaking during the designated portion of the agenda for public comment may offer objective criticism of district operations and programs. The Board will not hear comments regarding any individual district staff member. The Board chair will direct the visitor to the procedures in Board Policy KL - Complaints for consideration of a legitimate complaint involving a staff member. A commendation involving a staff member should be sent to the superintendent, who will forward it to the employee, a supervisor and the Board." The Board requests that a public comment add information or a perspective that has not already been mentioned previously, and that the patron refrains from repeating a similar point. Public Comment Options: Sign-up to speak at the meeting: A sign-up form will be available for those wishing to speak to the school board in person. Comments will follow District Policy with up to 3 minutes allotted per person to speak. To submit written comments: Please send an email to publiccomments@nwasco.k12.or.us. Deadline to submit written comments is Wednesday,October 22nd, 2025 by 4:00 PM. Public comments submitted after the deadline will be included in the next Regular School Board Meeting agenda. Description:
Description: In odd numbered years, member boards take official action to elect regional representatives for even-numbered positions of the OSBA Board of Directors, all regional representatives on the Legislative Policy Committee, and any positions that are currently vacant or were filled by appointment. The Gorge region holds one position on the Board of Directors and one position on the Legislative Policy Committee, both of which are up for election.

16.a. Update Policies: On January 9, 2025, a federal district court judge in Kentucky issued a decision invalidating the 2024 updates to the Title IX regulations. This ruling invalidates the rules that went into effect on August 1, 2024. OSBA has since received a communication from U.S. Department of Education that this means the previous rules issued in 2020 under Title IX remain in effect now. OSBA has rolled back some of its recommended edits previously published in November 2024 for the following policies and administrative regulations
