VII. Middle School Math Update
Description:

At the April Education/Operations Committee Meeting, Jennifer Rauscher and Mark Schommer provided an update on the Math Course Sequencing Team’s work during the 2021-22 school year, the 2022-23 middle school mathematics offerings, and ongoing continuous improvement work in mathematics.

Description:

At the April Education/Operations Committee meeting, Chief Finance and Business Services Officer, Bob Tess presented a summary report presenting all legal counsel expenses incurred during the third quarter of 2021-2022. The report is broken down by law firm and by type of legal advice sought. This is a written report that requires no action.

The District Administration requests approval of the wage increases for employee groups that were reviewed at April Education/Operations Committee Meeting. The overall wage increases by group are as follows:
The Teacher group increase represents increases in steps, recognition of degrees/advancements, and a 2.51% increase per cell. This compensation agreement is expected to be ratified by the Wausau Education Association and pending Board action by the start of the Regular Board Meeting on Monday, May 9th. These increases are represented in the budget reconciliation plan that you will see in the next agenda item. |

IX.A. 2022-23 Teacher Contract Approvals (Action Requested)

Description:
Estimated Time to Present: 5 minutes
The District Administration requests the approval of the attached list of teacher contracts for the 2022-23 school year. These are the contracts that are eligible for renewal and included in the staffing and budget planning for next school year. I will be available on Monday night in the event there are any questions. Following Board approval, the individual teaching contracts will be sent to staff from the Human Resources Department prior to the statutory deadline of May 15th.

IX.B. Formation of Board Sub-Committees to Review Elementary and Secondary School Structures (Action Requested)
Description:
Estimated Time to Present: 5 minutes
While the Wausau School District offers wonderful opportunities for students and is a great place to work, we are always looking to improve. We are proposing to form two school board subcommittees; one elementary committee and one secondary committee, to generate ideas to address challenges related to student programming, staffing, and raising student achievement.
