5. Hearing of Citizens
Description:  Note: All public bodies, during the course of a business meeting, must provide an opportunity for public comment.  Board members may limit the public comments to items listed on the agenda (not usually necessary) and a certain amount of time for each individual comment (generally only important when there is a highly controversial issue and high public demand to make a comment before the Board).  The public comment portion of the agenda is generally NOT a time for the Board to interact with the public or to respond to the comments made by any member of the public.  It is a time to allow comments to be heard by the Board.  If a member of the public wishes to make inflammatory comments regarding an employee of the District, the Board should request that such communication take place in Closed Session to protect the privacy rights of staff.

Description:  We had 3 FOIA requests
1 - Attorney Tim Dwyer requested information on past inter-fund transfers.
2 - Katie Kim with NBC Chicago requested information on our student computer security system and policy.
3 -Bethany Simpson with Smart Procure requested all purchasing records from 10/31/19 to current. 
All requests were answered in a timely manner.

Description:  Recommended Motion:  "I move that the Board of Education approve the consent agenda items, as presented"  (Roll call vote)

Description:  Adding an institute day for the 1st day of school for staff
7.i. Approve Tentative 2022-2023, FY23 Budget for Purposes of Publication
Description:  The Board of Education approves the tentative budget for FY22 for the purposes of publication and announcement of August, 2021 Public Hearing on FY22 budget, as presented. 
7.j. Authorize Superintendent to pay usual and customary June 2022 and July 2022  bills.
Description:  This item will authorize the regular payment of bills for June and July, as the Board does not meet. All bills paid will be included in the Board packet for the August meeting as usual.
7.k. Annual Prevailing Wage Approval
Description:  This is a required annual approval. 
7.l. Annual Approval of Hazardous Transportation Routes
Description:  Recommended Motion: “I move that the Board of Education certify Serious Safety Hazard Findings and authorize the administration to submit such findings to IDOT for the following locations: 
a. Route 22 West of Telegraph Road #106-04-01
b. Route 22 East of Telegraph Road #106-04-02

Note: The Board is required to annually approve hazardous routes to allow for free bus transportation for students who qualify based on IDOT regulations for hazardous routes. Due to the failure of proposed legislation to eliminate the requirement for districts to provide bus transportation for students living over 1.5 miles from school, it is advisable to once again approve these routes and submit the information to IDOT to justify our services.
7.m. Appointment of School Treasuerer
Description:  Recommended Motion: I move that the Board of Education appoint Lisa Pease as the Treasurer for Bannockburn School District 106 for a three year term beginning July 1, 2022. 

 Note:  Appointment of School Treasurer is routine and required by law

and 5 year review of policy #3:70, 5:140, 5:240, 5:70, 6:140, 6:70

Description:  At this time, we do not have a need for closed session.
