12.C. Under Texas Education Code Sec.11.061(c) the Board is instructed to organize the Board by selecting officers at the first meeting after each election.  On April 28, 2023, (revised on May 3, 2023), the TEA-appointed Conservator, Dr. Carol Francois issued a written directive that the Board “Forego election of new officers in May and retain the current board officers.” Under Texas Education Code Sec.39A.003(c)(1) a Tea-appointed Conservator may direct an action to be taken by the District’s Board of Trustees.  Based upon the Conservator’s directive, the following Officers will continue to serve in the identified Board Officer capacities: President, Marion Hamilton; Vice President,  Ty G. Jones; Secretary, Carolyn Ann Morris. (G1-G4)
