Description:

Per H.B. 2840 all public comments shall be limited only to items on the board agenda for consideration. 6)a)3) Consider Good Cause Exemptions for the 2025-2026 School Year

Description:
Texas Education Code section 37.0814 requires school district's to determine the appropriate number of armed security officers for each district campus. This resolution is to claim a good cause exception under House Bill 3 due to lack of available funding and/or lack of available qualified personnel.

6)a)4) Consider renewing the annual Tarrant County 4-H and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Adjunct and Extracurricular Agreement.

Our Godley FFA Advisors are not able to attend every show across the state. This agreement allows one of the Tarrant County 4-H and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service advisors to serve as an advisor for our Godley FFA students when our Godley FFA advisors cannot attend. |
6)b) Consider Adopting Policy EFB(LOCAL) - Instructional Resources Library Materials

Description:
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the District provides a wide range of library materials for students and faculty that support student achievement and present varying levels of difficulty, diversity of appeal, and a variety of points of view. This policy also provides standards for collection development and the selection and evaluation of library materials. |
6)c) Consider Adoption of FNCE(LOCAL): Personal Telecomunications/Electronic Device

The state of Texas recently passed legislation requiring a policy prohibiting students from using cell phones and smart watches on school property during school day. This policy complies with the new law and brings us into compliance. |

6)h) Consider Approval of School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Membership for the 25-26 School Year

Description:
The School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) helps ensure that the health education instruction in the district aligns with local community values. The council provides an annual report to the school board in accordance with Education Code 28.004(a). The SHAC committee is composed of at least five members, with the majority being parents of students enrolled in the district who are not employed by the district. |
