Request designation and approval to proceed with a Job Order Contract renovation on the 600 Pearson property. This procurement method from Texas Education Code Chapter 44 and Texas Government Code Chapter 2269, allows us to designate an architectural design through an interlocal contract with construction related goods and services under Texas Government Code Chapter 791.

Most teachers start looking for job openings before summer and the end of their contract. The period between Spring Break and the end of the school year, districts must act quickly to secure the best candidates for open positions. Granting Dr. Dear the authority to approve hiring personnel between board meetings will help in recruiting high-quality staff.

The Texas Education Agency has assigned Godley ISD responsibility for implementing minimal safety standards at the Excel campus in Grandview, which operates under the Johnson County Shared Services Agreement (JCSSA). Due to facility limitations, funding constraints, and logistical challenges, Godley ISD is requesting board approval for Good Cause Exceptions to ensure alternative safety measures are in place while addressing financial and operational constraints
