Kevin came over and helped dig me out of a paperwork mountain! I know it is not the most exciting work but they kept a positive attitude and it was such a relief to get caught up. Thank you Thank you Thank you! Serena Jackson Sheryl Sotello In the past 2 months Sheryl has spend countless hours to prepare and submit not one, not two but 4 grants for Chugach School District. Getting federal grants is a big piece of providing support and funding for our students, staff, and schools, and the only way to get these grants is to write them which is a HUGE undertaking. Thank you Sheryl for your continued efforts to find grants we are eligible for, working closely with critical partners, and all the time spent to put these large grant proposals together. Doug Penn Serena Jackson A very big thank you for all your help, support, and communication through our online enrollment transition. You are a big reason that parents and staff have been able to navigate to help streamline our enrollment from a cumbersome paper process to a much more efficient online process. I also want to thank Serena for taking on revitalizing our district newsletter. The first issue looks great and looking forward to seeing this grow :) Thanks Serena! Doug Penn Camille Parry Through Camille’s efforts, the students of Chenega Community School held its first "Chenega Heritage Week". Camille’s unwavering dedication and commitment that every student find value in their heritage, worked tirelessly with the community to identify and celebrate "Qaigiat Quyakapet"-HONORING THE SEAL. The students of Chenega and Tatitlek and members of the community learned fascinating facts about the seal from information provided by the ladies from Coastal Studies as well as stories provided by elders from the community. Thank You, Camille, the students and community is provided strong foundation to continue this important cultural component in future endeavors. Gail Evanoff, CSD Board Member and Chenega Elder |
