IV. Public Hearings and Adoption of Proposed Budget & Tax Rates

IV.A. Conduct a hearing to receive comments from the public regarding the proposed budget for FY27.

IV.B. Consider and take appropriate to adopt the proposed FY27 budget, considering any amendments that may be required before final adoption. 

For Tax Year 2026/Fiscal Year 2027, the Fisher County Appraisal District has appraised the median-valued homestead in the Fisher County Hospital District at $100,000.00. If the FY27 proposed budget is adopted with the TY26 proposed tax rate of $0.322849, the Hospital District tax levied on the median-valued homestead would total $322.85. If the TY26 No-New-Revenue tax rate of $0.298789 were adopted, the tax levy would total $298.79, a difference of $24.06. For comparison, for TY25/FY26, the median-valued homestead was $81,530.00. At the TY25 adopted tax rate of $0.263524, the tax levy on the median-valued homestead was $214.85. The proposed levy on the median-valued homestead for TY26/FY27 is $108.00 more than the adopted levy for TY25/FY26. Note: The median value differs from the average value used in other tax rate notices; therefore, the calculations above may differ from those published in other notices by the District. H.B. 1522 and Tex. Gov’t Code § 551.043 require the use of the median value in this statement, rather than the average value required in the Notice of Public Hearing. The proposed budget has been made available prior to the meeting at fishercountyhospital.com/finance.

IV.C. Conduct a hearing to receive comments from the public regarding the proposed ad valorem property tax rate for TY26.

IV.D. Consider and take appropriate action to adopt the proposed TY26 ad valorem tax rate.

Consider and take appropriate action to accept the certification of unopposed candidates for the November 3, 2026, Fisher County Hospital District Board of Directors election, declare the unopposed candidates elected, and adopt an order canceling the election in accordance with the Texas Election Code.
