June 22, 2021 at 6:30 PM - Special Board Meeting

1. Call meeting to order, roll call, establishment of a quorum and Pledge of Allegiance.

2. Invocation.

3. OPEN FORUM:  Comments from the public. Citizen Communications: (Limit of 3 minutes per speaker/group) Public Audience: Public comments for   this meeting will be held as follows: Members of the public, if you wish to comment before the Board, you must sign in with the designee by 6:15 p.m. on June 22, 2021 to give your name and topic you wish to comment on.  Remember that the Board can only listen to the person presenting information and must not respond to any questions posed to the Board.  Specific factual information or recitation of existing policy may be furnished in response to inquiries, but the Board shall not deliberate or decide regarding any subject that is not included on the agenda posted with notice of the meeting.

4. DISCUSSION AND ACTION ITEMS:

4.a. Discussion and possible approval of payment to EdCloud, Technology, LLC for the use of their Cyber SPED surveillance software system which monitors, screens, and produces footage for special education department.

4.b. Discussion and action on the approval of renewal and payment to Montalvo Insurance for Property & Casualty Insurance and General Liability for the 2021-2022 school year or solicit proposals.

5. CLOSED SESSION: The superintendent requests that the Board of Trustees convene in closed meeting as authorized by the provisions of the Open Meeting Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.  This executive session is in accordance with the Texas Government Code Section:

5.a. 551.074 for the purpose of discussing personnel, considering appointment, employment, resignation, retirement, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.

5.a.1. Discussion regarding hiring a principal for Carlos F. Truan Junior High school.

5.b. Consultation with legal counsel regarding a.)  pending or contemplated litigation b.)  settlement offer; or c.)  matter in which the duty of the attorney to Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code (TX.Gov't. Code 551.071)

6. ACTION ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION:
