1.A. Revise/waive Board Policy FFAC (LOCAL) to the extent necessary to allow for the application of insect repellent to students without written permission from a medical professional under certain circumstances.

1.A.1. Dallas County Health officials have declared a state of public health emergency due to the spread of the West Nile virus. Health officials recommend that individuals who engage in outdoor activities should use insect repellent containing DEET. Because our students will be engaged in outdoor activities, the Administration recommends that the Board waive or revise Board Policy FFAC (LOCAL) to permit our students to use insect repellent immediately.
