Ms. Tenney was excited that in January the Gear Up program will begin an after school tutoring program and a half day Saturday School for students that need academic help.  She also spoke about the Social and Emotional tool bags that will be placed in each middle school classroom after the break.  Volunteers from Young Life sewed the bags and the school counselors ordered specific items so that children who need a short break can use them to calm down.  Fifteen percent of middle school students were absent on 12/16/19 because of flu symptoms.

Mr. Westerman reported that Winter Sports have started.  The High School had 97 students participating in fall sports and currently has 93 students out for basketball, wrestling, and cheer.  The Choir and Bands performed at the Community Concert and Nancy Kusky of Goldendale TV has already posted the Band Concert on YouTube.  The GHS Drama will present The 39 Steps, January 17, 18, 24, and 25.
