Description:  The Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success 2022-2023 General Fund and Child Nutrition Fund activity as of April 30, 2023. The TCCC-Community Programs Activity as of  April 30, 2023, is presented.
 

Description:  The Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success 2022-2023 General Fund and Child Nutrition Fund activity as of May 31, 2023. The TCCC-Community Programs Activity as of May 31, 2023, is presented.
 

Description:  The scope of the project for Pasadena will include a review of a site in the Pasadena to include the adaptive reuse and required improvements to an existing church located at 1062 Fairmont Pkwy Pasadena TX to house 720 students in grades K - 8.

Description:  According to TDA guidelines, the program must monitor its cash and maintain no more than 3 months average expenditures.  The average is $410,376. The excess cash is $1,110,505. Equipment for expansion projects is included in the plan.
 

Description:   The BRYSS Campus has portable classrooms being leased, and the term of the lease will end on July 31, 2023. The portables are still needed, and it is recommended that the lease extension be approved.
 

Description:  Speech therapy services are required as part of ARD Speech Evaluation Services. Attached are the invoices along with the name of the student evaluation.
 

Description:  Grants were submitted to TEA and the amount of $900,000 will be awarded per campus. Final negotiations were completed and a NOGA is projected to be received from TEA. The fund is necessary to account for the costs started for the different campuses.
 

Description:  NIFA grant funds area available as start up funds for new campuses. The amount is $1,000 per student, and we are projecting that 180 students will start on August 2023.
 

Description:  Accelerate Learning (STEMscopes) provides STEM curriculum for grades kindergarten to high school. Accelerate Learning (ALI) / STEMscopes is a 100% aligned and TEA approved digital curriculum that offers easy delivery of STEM lessons based on a constructivist approach to teaching and is developed in partnership with Rice University.  STEMscopes provides RYSS teachers with a comprehensive set of lessons, resources, and tools based on the 5E model. RYSS is in the fourth year of implementation for science and middle school math in Brownsville, and the first year for middle school math for Houston campuses.
 

Description:  Curriculum Associates is a curriculum and assessment company that provides educators with insightful data, supports for teachers to personalize learning for students, and reduces time to enable teachers to focus on what is most important; quality instruction. The iReady program will provide RYSS teachers with diagnostic data, standards mastery assessments aligned to TEKS, and a Teacher Toolbox to supplement classroom instruction as needed based on the data provided. Magnetic Reading Foundations is a TEKS aligned phonics program that will provide teachers with an explicit and systematic approach to teaching reading. Magnetic Reading 3-8 will be used to support our most struggling readers to become successful and confident readers.
 

Description:   The Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success received a donation of $69,000 to fund a playground. PO 3475 was issued for $59,120.76 and an increase of $3,136.96 was received, which will total the project at $62,258.
 

Description:  Green Mountain Energy was the first energy company dedicated to clean energy in Texas.  In 2002, they created the Sun Club to empower local communities with sustainability solutions.  Through non-profit partnerships and sustainability grants, Sun Club delivers projects promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental stewardship.  

On Sunday, July 16, 2023, Tejano Center for Community Concerns submitted a grant proposal for funds to support the installation of solar paneling at Sunrise Lofts (3101 McKinney) and is currently accepting quotes from vendors for solar panel installation.  

If awarded the Sun Club Sustainability Grant, Tejano Center would receive funds ranging between $100,000-300,000.

Description:  Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word has awarded Tejano Center for Community Concerns $100,000 to support the staffing of 2 case managers at Sunrise Lofts.

By accepting this grant, Tejano Center for Community Concerns agrees to provide case management at Sunrise Lofts, keep details about this contribution anonymous, and adhere to reporting requirements of the grant.  
 

Description:  Houston Methodist's (HM) Diversity and Inclusion Grant Program focuses on addressing the root causes of health inequities experienced by social, racial, and ethnic minorities.  This grant program targets the social determinants of health, the conditions within which people are born and live, that are often the underlying cause of today's major societal health issues such as lack of insurance, obesity, poor mental health, heart disease and more.  

The awarded amount will be utilized to support the establishment of a new grocery store, La Tiendita, in the Independence Heights community to address food insecurity for Hispanic individuals living within the Houston community through salary support of a program clerk.  

The donation of $75,000 has been approved for payment  in 12 equal monthly installments, beginning May 2023.  This donation is for May 2023 - April 2024 only, and no agreement for additional or later donations is either expressed or implied.  Applications for additional amounts will be considered separately on a schedule set by HM.

Description:  The HOMEownership Solutions Network is a peer network to exchange practitioner insights into the current homeownership landscape, generate innovative ideas, and share solutions for increasing Latino homeownership. The HOME initiative’s goal is to advance systemic change to create 4 million new Latino homeowners by 2030.

By agreeing to join the HOMEownership Solutions Network, Tejano Center for Community Concerns agrees to participate in two (2) to three (3) task forces, support the launch of HOME initiative, and generally collaborate with UnidosUS on advancing Latino Homeownership.  
 

Description:  The United Way of Greater Baytown Area and Chambers County (UWGBACC) has awarded TCCC with a Community Impact Grant for the 2022-2023 year to provide college and career services to residents of Baytown and the surrounding areas through GRADcafé Baytown.

TCCC agrees to use the resources for the purposes in which the grant is intended, track the number of individuals served from designated zip codes served by this grant, and provide quarterly reports as requested by the funder.
 

Description:  The goal of the 2023 Voter Engagement Campaign Grant is to support a collective of Latinx voter engagement organizations to increase the Latinx Electoral Participation within Greater Houston.

By accepting this grant, TCCC agrees to use the resources for the purposes for which the grant is intended, host voter engagement events, track the number of individuals reached by this grant, and provide reports as requested by the funder.
 

Description:  On an annual basis, payroll dates, holidays approved, and contract days are approved for staff - 10-month, 11-month, and 12-month employees.

Description:  Each Texas charter holder must have an annual school calendar  approved by its governing board for every currently operating campus. 19 Texas Administrative Code §100.1211(g) states that "a charter holder shall adopt a school year for the charter school, with fixed beginning and ending dates. The charter school shall submit a copy of the charter school's campus calendars to the TEA division responsible for charter school administration prior to the first day of August of each year.

The decision making process to develop the 2023-2024 academic calendars involved data collected from DAC - District Advisory          Committee, Faculty and Staff.  We also reviewed other surrounding school district calendars for alignment and consistency.   The proposed calendar surpasses the TEA 75,600-minute requirement.

• At RYSS STEM Academy at First Friends Pasadena, students will attend an estimated 85,680 minutes.

Description:  Due to the required number of teacher workdays, RYSS Houston School Academic Calendar had to be extended for one more day added at the end of the school year. This will allow the schools to provide the required 180 instructional school days and the required 195 teacher workdays. This will also allow the end of the school year to coincide with BRYSS. April 1^st was added as Chavez/Huerta Holiday.

Description:  In order to keep the board informed about Tejano Center’s Child Placing Agency (CPA) initiatives, events, and activities, the attached report to the board is provided.  The report covers activities that took place during the period subsequent to the June 2023 board meeting. Description:  In order to keep the board informed about Tejano Center’s Resolve Program, the attached Resolve Program Monthly Status Report is provided. The report reflects the status update of the Resolve program and updated data since the June 2023, board meeting.
 

Description:  The following events and activities are the focus of our work at Project GRAD:

Relationship & Community Building GRAD Advisors had the
opportunity to participate in Harris County Department of Education’s
GED Graduation. GRAD Advisors connected with approximately 45 GED
graduates. Graduates (adult learners) were excited to learn basic
computer literacy and ESL courses were part of our services.

College & Career Services Virtual and In-Person the GRADcafé by
Project GRAD Service Report - June 2023 which includes service
numbers, event numbers, service topics, and target populations served is attached. Page one of the report covers June 2023.

GRADcafé on the Go! GRAD Advisors participated in College: Ready,
Set, Go annual workshop hosted by Houston Bar Association (HBA) and
Communities in Schools at South Texas College of Law. HBA’s summer
interns had the opportunity to learn about the importance of applying for
financial aid, searching for scholarships, exploring careers, and becoming familiar with their college/university resources.
 

Description:  Housing department provides homebuyer education, one-on-one individual counseling to both homeowners and homebuyers, and home repairs to eligible homeowners.

Homebuyer Education Workshops: Eight-Hour Homebuyer Education classes held twice per month in English & Spanish.  

Homebuyer Counseling: Individual Housing Counseling to assess mortgage readiness and/or obstacles/barriers in order to apply & qualify for a mortgage loan, identify program eligibility and close on a home.

Homeowner Counseling: Individual Housing Counseling for existing homeowners. Services can assist with applying for property tax discounts, understanding escrow analysis, and weatherization program, to name a few. This is also the entry point for homeowners requesting home repairs to their primary home.
 

Description:  The annual budget for the RYSS School and non-school is presented for review. The annual budget is proposed to be adopted at the August Board Meeting.
